    Hi, I'm Seanna

I'm the home cook, recipe developer, and food photographer behind Seanna's Kitchen.

I help home cooks make simple, tasty, family-friendly recipes inspired by Midwestern comfort food. Food that works in real life and tastes just as good on a busy weeknight as it does at a holiday gathering.

Every recipe you'll find here is tested in my own kitchen and written with clarity and care. No trendy gimmicks. No complicated techniques. Just dependable food you can feel confident serving the people you love.

Food is love. Cooking is community.

    Meet Seanna

    Meet Seanna

I'm Seanna Borrows, the cook, recipe developer, and voice behind Seanna's Kitchen.

What began as a small family blog in 2015 has grown into a trusted recipe resource used by home cooks across the Midwest and beyond. While the site has grown, the heart behind it has stayed the same.

I'm a wife, a mom, and someone who believes deeply in the power of a shared meal. Many of the recipes you'll find here come from my family. Some were passed down on well-worn recipe cards from my mom and grandmother. Others were developed over years of testing at my own kitchen table.

Those roots shape everything I do here.

✨ At Seanna's Kitchen, you'll find tested recipes and real-life cooking and baking tips - trusted by home cooks across the Midwest and beyond.

    Our Philosophy

Here at Seanna's Kitchen, I help home cooks become better, more confident cooks by teaching simple, tested recipes rooted in Midwestern hospitality, where food is love and cooking is community.

Why You Can Trust These Recipes

If you're taking the time to cook, you deserve recipes that truly work.

    At Seanna's Kitchen:

    • Every recipe is tested multiple times for accuracy and consistency
    • Instructions are written for real home kitchens, not studio setups
    • Recipes are developed, cooked, and photographed by me
    • Reader feedback is regularly incorporated into updates and improvements

Reliability matters here. My goal is for you to feel confident every time you step into your kitchen.

    A Little More About Me

I was born in Wisconsin and spent many years in Chicago before settling near Detroit with my husband, Russ, who helps behind the scenes at Seanna's Kitchen.

My cooking is deeply shaped by my Midwestern roots and the generations of home cooks who taught me that food is one of the most meaningful ways to care for people. Some of my earliest memories are afternoons spent in the kitchen with my mom, learning by watching, tasting, and doing.

Those moments still guide how I cook and how I teach today.

I hope Seanna's Kitchen helps you create that same sense of warmth, confidence, and belonging in your own home.
