    My Story

Seanna's Kitchen began in 2015 as a way to preserve my family's favorite recipes and share the joy of home cooking with others. What began as a passion project has grown into a place where I help home cooks cook with confidence through simple, tasty, family-friendly recipes rooted in Midwestern hospitality.

Many of the recipes you'll find here have been passed down through family and friends or inspired by treasured cookbooks that have been part of my kitchen for years. Others have been developed and refined in my own kitchen, often after making them again and again until they're just right.

Hospitality is how I see my purpose. I believe God has given each of us gifts to share with others, and for me, that gift has always been expressed through food.

I love caring for the people around me by making something I hope they'll enjoy. Whether it's inviting family and friends around our table, taking a meal to someone who needs encouragement, or sharing a favorite recipe, food has always been one of the most meaningful ways I know to love people well.

Over the years, I've been deeply influenced by family and friends who love to cook. No matter where I go, I always seem to find my way to the kitchen. I'm fascinated by the stories behind family recipes, the traditions that have been passed down through generations, and the little techniques that make a good recipe even better.

Those roots continue to shape everything I do here.

    A Little More About Me

Seanna Borrows, Midwestern home cook, in her kitchen making family recipes.

I'm a Midwestern girl at heart, born in Wisconsin, shaped by years in Chicago, and now back home in Michigan with my husband, Russ.

Many of my earliest memories are of cooking alongside my mom and learning hospitality from my grandmother. Those experiences still influence how I cook, teach, and welcome people into my kitchen today.

Our home has always been a gathering place. I love opening the door to family and friends, planning Friday night dinners, trying a new recipe, and creating a warm, welcoming space where people can relax, laugh, and enjoy being together.

When I'm not developing recipes, you'll usually find me cooking, entertaining, spending time with Russ, our kids, extended family, and friends, and our energetic puppy, Cali, or dreaming up the next recipe to share with the Seanna's Kitchen community.

Why You Can Trust My Recipes

If you're taking the time to cook for your family or friends, you deserve recipes that truly work.

Every recipe on Seanna's Kitchen is developed, cooked, tested, photographed, and written by me.

I test recipes repeatedly, write clear step-by-step instructions, and continually improve recipes based on reader feedback and my own experience in the kitchen.

I don't just want to share recipes. I want to help you understand why they work so you can cook with greater confidence and enjoy the process along the way.
